Since 2013, ACCO has been developing and
offering CCO Training
BootcampsTM
as its primary training resource. These courses
have been developed through a consensus process involving
hundreds of experts in the public and private sectors, and are
designed to meet learning objectives based upon the
Core Competencies for
climate Change Officers and Professionals.
Participants earn education
credits and gain valuable skills applicable to ACCO
credentialing
requirements. Existing curriculum undergoes a regular and
frequent review process as we advance and enhance our training
activities. New bootcamps and curriculum are currently
being developed and will be added to the
bootcamp catalog.
Competencies Addressed in ACCO Training Activities
- Foundational knowledge and
skills include science literacy, environmental literacy,
knowledge of the policy landscape, and management acumen.
- Organizational knowledge and
experience include strategic planning, decision-making,
compliance, enterprise risk management, asset management,
the management of value and supply chains, corporate
communications and corporate social responsibility, and
organizational governance.
- Strategic execution competencies
are largely skills-based and include supporting
organizational change, helping to mitigate risk, engaging
stakeholders, being actively involved in policy efforts
beyond the walls of the organization and maintaining other
external partnerships.

science and the capacity to conduct

efforts play in climate change strategies and
how their decisions affect an organization's
